This website contains Free Educational Sheet Music that you are welcome to download for your own personal study use. I have arranged many of these pieces myself for my own violin, piano and keyboard students and am very happy to share them with other teachers and students. By downloading these sheets you agreeing to use them in the manner intended by this website, i.e. only for your own personal educations use, not for any public performance and not for any form of monetary profit.

FLUTE, SAXOPHONE & OTHER MELODY INSTRUMENTS

If you play a treble instrument (i.e. flute, clarinet, sax, etc.) you can use the violin music, keyboard leadsheets, or some piano music which has a separate melody/vocal line. You can transpose (change the key) to suit your instrument or difficulty level. You only have to transpose if you are playing a Bb, Eb, etc instrument and are going to be playing the song with other instruments that aren't in the same key, or backing track. If you are playing by yourself or you are a Bb clarinet playing with a Bb saxophone then you don't have to transpose. Smartmusic/Finale files make it easy to transpose, just click the key signature icon and select your instrument.

The sheet music available to download from this site is in several different formats.

Sibelius Scorch: Most new files added will now be in this format. To view, save & print these you need to download the Scorch Viewer (even if you already use Sibelius software, you still need the viewer as well for on-line!). When you click on a file that has (Sibelius Scorch) written after it, a page will load showing you the sheet music, you can play, listen, print, save, transpose & change the tempo. If you don't see any music scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link to get the viewer!

Midi files (.mid) can be opened as sheet music in any music notation programme (e.g. Encore, Noteworthy Composer, Melody Assistant, Finale, etc) and the sheet music printed. If you don't want to spend any money on music software I recommend Melody Assistant at http://www.myriad-online.com/melody.htm which is a multi-lingual Shareware programme that will open your midi file and allow you to edit, print & save it, or Noteworthy Player at http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/player/ a free programme which allows you to open midi and Noteworthy composer files and print them but has no editing features.

To download midi files: Right click on the link and select save target as. To listen Click the link and for best on line results use the Crescendo plug-in.

.pdf files can be viewed and printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or later. Left click to view, Right Click "Save Target As" to download.

To View Smart Music and Finale Files: Download and install the Finale Viewer. Then just click on any links on my website labled Finale Viewer or Smart Music to see the music. You can play, change tempo, change key, print or save from this same screen. If you save the file it will be in Coda Musics .mus format and you will need one of their notation programmes (i.e. NotePad (Free from http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad ) or Finale) to open them.
